Good tools should work for the people who need them most: someone with low vision, someone who gets dizzy from motion, someone who uses a screen reader or reads more easily with a different typeface. We design wielder.de so that you can shape it to the way you read and move, and we treat every barrier you report as a bug to fix.
Open the accessibility menu (the person icon at the top right, also in the Control Center). Its settings apply across the whole site and are remembered in your browser:
- Text size from 100 to 175 percent.
- Contrast: normal, more contrast, or maximum (solid surfaces, no glass).
- Colour vision filters for protanopia, deuteranopia and tritanopia, and a monochrome view.
- Motion: full, reduced, or none.
- Read aloud, using your device's own voices.
- Text spacing (line, paragraph, letter and word spacing, as in WCAG 1.4.12) and a dyslexia-friendly typeface.
- A strong focus ring with underlined links, and a larger mouse pointer.
- Reduced transparency.
- The page language for screen readers and voices (the words themselves stay English).
The Control Center's Display page also dims and warms the screen. The site follows your device's settings for reduced motion, reduced transparency and dark mode, and in the accessibility menu you can press a number to change a setting, or 0 to undo.
The site has not yet been audited against WCAG 2.1 or 2.2, so we do not claim conformance. Areas that may still need work:
- Some motion-rich parts (the main page's wallpaper and card, the island header's animations, /startle) are designed for pointer and touch first; with motion set to reduced or none they calm down, but they may not yet work as well with a keyboard or a screen reader.
- Apps listed on the site are separate products; their own accessibility depends on each app.
If something on wielder.de is hard or impossible for you to use, tell us: choose "I still need help" in the accessibility menu, or write to support@wielder.de. Say which page and what happened; we answer and fix what we can.
