Most software today asks for your data first and earns your trust later, if ever. We want to build a new class of tools that work the other way round: instruments that are powerful enough for serious work in AI, medicine, design, games and everyday productivity, and quiet enough to leave your private life alone. Tools you own and understand, that do one thing well, keep your work where you put it, and treat your attention as something to protect rather than harvest.
Every page in this trust center describes what one part of Wielder actually does with information, written so that anyone can follow it. When a product changes what it processes, its page changes first.
These are the promises that hold across everything we make. They go further than the law requires, because the law is a floor, not a goal.
- Collect as little as possible. If a feature can work without your data, it does. If it needs some, we say exactly which and why.
- Keep it on your device. Our apps store your work locally by default. Cloud sync, accounts and anything that leaves your device are optional, off until you choose them, and explained before you do.
- Never sell it, never advertise with it. We do not sell personal data, share it for advertising, or build profiles of you.
- Be honest about limits. We publish what a tool cannot do yet, and we do not claim certifications or guarantees we do not have.
- Make leaving easy. Export your data, delete your account, uninstall: each is a clear, documented step.
- Answer people. Every message to us is read and answered by a person.
We follow the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the German data protection rules for everything we run, wherever our users live. We choose service providers (hosting, payments, account infrastructure) that commit to the GDPR through data-processing agreements, and name each of them in the policy of the product that uses it; transfers outside the EU rely on recognised safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us at any time what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and complain to a data protection authority if you think we got something wrong.
Some Wielder tools work with health information: redacting clinical documents, drafting with clinicians, organising a practice. We hold them to our highest standard of care:
- Privacy by architecture. Wherever possible, documents are processed on the device rather than sent to a server, and anything that does leave the device is named in that tool's own policy.
- A human stays in charge. Our clinical tools prepare and suggest; a person reviews before anything is exported, shared or used.
- Tested before trusted. We test with synthetic data, keep test builds away from real patient data, and hold a release back until it passes its checks.
- Limits written down. Each tool states what it does not do and what has not been proven yet.
Our tools support the people who provide care; they do not replace professional medical judgement, and unless a product page explicitly says otherwise, they are not certified medical devices.
We want everyone to be able to use Wielder. Every page carries an accessibility menu with larger text, more contrast, reduced motion, read-aloud and more; the accessibility statement says what works today and how to tell us about a barrier.
