- ConCin 1.0.1 — permission-free local card game (unpacked ZIP).
A tactile Levantine family-table game—also searched as Hand, Concan, Konkan, هاند, or كونكان—for solo practice and quick play.
ConCin is Ralph Theodori’s tactile digital adaptation of the card game remembered around his Aleppine family table. It preserves the physical feeling of a well-used deck, the quiet arithmetic of a 51-point opening, and the moment a loose hand suddenly becomes a plan.
Across Arab households, closely related rummy traditions are encountered as Hand (هاند), Concan, Konkan, or كونكان, with spelling and house rules changing between families and regions. Published rules for Middle Eastern Hand consistently describe the central rhythm—draw, build sets and same-suit runs, discard—and a first lay-down worth at least 51 points. ConCin names those neighboring traditions for recognition, but does not pretend that every regional version is identical.
The historical trail is not neat enough to claim a single birthplace. Card games travel through families, cafés, migration, and oral teaching; names sometimes overlap even when rules diverge. In particular, the older name Conquian is also used for a distinct 40-card two-player game. ConCin therefore presents itself honestly: one documented Aleppine-family adaptation within the broader Arab rummy tradition, not a declaration that it invented or definitively represents every game sharing a similar name.

Every turn has three beats:
Your first lay-down in a round must total 51 points or more. You may combine several valid melds to reach 51. Once open, you may lay additional melds, extend melds already on the table, and reclaim a joker by replacing it correctly.
The aim is to empty your hand. A normal winner scores −30; finishing all 14 cards as a full hand scores −60. Everyone else records the value of the cards left in hand, so the lowest cumulative score wins when the table reaches its end condition. The complete quick reference is always available from the Rules button during play.
Choose Solo for a table with a computer player or Quick Play for an immediate local deal. ConCin includes animated dealing, tactile drag-and-drop play, meld construction, discard guidance, configurable rounds, save and resume, English, French, and Arabic, several card backs and faces, keyboard-friendly controls, visible focus, and reduced-motion support.
Version 1.0.0 is bundled entirely inside the Chrome extension. It requests no website access, reads no browsing history or page content, and contains no advertising or analytics. The historical named roster has been removed; play starts with an anonymous local Player identity. Online rooms remain deliberately unavailable until authenticated seats, viewer-specific hidden state, server-authoritative moves, abuse prevention, and rate limiting ship together.
