YouTube DJ Mode stores cue mappings, timing settings, panel preferences and unfinished timing drafts in Chrome's local extension storage, keyed to the YouTube video ID so you can resume work on that video. It requests one permission, storage, and runs only on YouTube watch pages.
On those pages it reads the current video ID, duration, playhead time and the player element, only to play your cues. It does not capture or download audio or video, and it does not read your browsing history, account, comments, recommendations or advertising identifiers.
YouTube DJ Mode sends no data to its developer or anyone else: it has no account, analytics, advertising or server of its own. A JSON file is created on your device only when you choose Export JSON.
You can delete single cues, clear all cues for a video, clear the current performance, or remove the extension; removing it clears its storage according to Chrome's extension lifecycle. YouTube DJ Mode is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google; links you open from it are governed by the destination's own privacy practices. This statement describes version 1.0.2.
